What a fiasco – in spite of Amazon support never able to activate license
Bought the ‘Amazon Exclusive Subscription” on 11/18. Followed instructions to activate license. Successfully linked to existing McAfee account and “successfully assigned license”, but then “failed to activate license”. Called on 11/19. Told to wait until existing license expires on 11/24 and then “license will automatically reactivate.” Didn’t happen. Tried again on 11/25 and got same messages: ‘successfully assigned license” and then “failed to activate license”. Called support on 11/30. Eventually gave up and transferred me to McAfee. McAfee blind without a product code (there is none provided with subscription) and couldn’t help. Amazon had promised to call back in an hour. Called back in four hours, which I missed. At that point I gave up and cancelled subscription. An incredible waste of time. Welcome actually substantive comments from Amazon – not platitudes.

Not good option for renewing existing licenses
Not good option for renewing existing liscense. It does not extend your current one. The 1 yr starts when activated from amazon. Renewal is at orignal price and can’t be returned for a refund.

Its an antivirus program.
I guess it works. I have the version where I can install it on all my devices. So, That is a plus being able to have it on my computer, phone, tablets, ect.Not a big fan on how the software looks have changed so much lately. Why not keep it the same if it works???

Poor Customer Support, Confusing Installation instructions for Mobile device – VPN snafu
McAfee Total Protection advertised as a one stop shop for Security and VPN, so I purchased it as my other anti Virus subscription was ending as was a separate VPN application for my devices. Installation was easy (so I thought). But, when I went to use the app on my Android phone to use the VPN during travel, it said I had used the 500 MB of data and I hadto purchase another app. Huh? There was no limit advertised in the description. Oh well, come Jan 1 it would reset. But it didn’t. I waited until Feb 1 and still it said I had used the limit. So I used the CHAT Tech support. I hardly had to wait and the support tech who had imperfect command of English grammar was polite and courteous via the CHAT. But he or she was confused with the Amazon product and first said I had the purchase the stand alone VPN product, then said I didn’t, and then had to. I tried to email him a screenshot of the error message, but he never received it. He/She didn’t give an alternate way to send it. When I asked to escalate, She/he never did.I reinstalled and found I could install the stand-alone VPN for my mobile device via a link that wasn’t present on the screen unless you scrolled down to the bottom. I will see if it solves the issue. There was no clear documentation. Also, the firewall blocks my synching of my password program. I couldn’t find an exception in the settings of the PC, so I have to turn off the Firewall. At this stage, I wouldn’t purchase the product again due to poor documentation and poor tech support (although polite and responsive).

Happy with the protection it offers but was a little difficult getting it all setup. Should have clear instructions of how to use and get product installed.
