Solid printer that helps in making great copies.
I like this printer very much. It replaced an older one. The new one feels much more solid than the older one. That was a pleasant surprise based on the trends of today’s products which almost always seem cheaper. Set up is easy. And there were choices of how and where to set it up. It also tracks ink usage and automatically sends ink when needed. Never run out of ink. And the program pricing is much better than buying one off at retail. The printer does everything I need. It is not too noisy either. It does seem to take a bit longer to print but the printed documents are very high quality. It also prints photos better than any printer I have had. It has a feeder. The great thing is when you use the manual platen you don’t need to place the document in an exact position. The printer detects what you are printing and adjusts itself. No more crooked or off center copies. That is great for me. As printers go the price, size and quality make it top notch.

Great printer, BUT… BE CAREFULL ON THE INSTANT INK PROGRAM
I only buy HP printers….why? Because they work so darn well and hook up sooooo darn easy….. Had this item before and used it at another home I was at….. HOWEVER, BUYER BEWARE….DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THE INSTANT INK PROGRAM HP OFFERS……..IT IS PLAGUED BY PROBLEMS EVEN I (a computer geek) FOUND DAUNTING…..I almost went to a different company, like Canon, for a printer BECAUSE of the INSTANT INK problems…..

The printer itself works fairly well. Has some issues.
The printer itself works fairly well.I had some issues with the setup as there’s a part of the setup that is not in the directions. Customer Service said they would help me because it was under the “default warranty.” Apparently there’s a spot where you need to indicate the serial number for the printer.Other issues have included being stuck on “drying” and being stuck on “shutting down” when trying to reset it due to the “Drying” issue. It took several minutes to figure out the actual issue was a paper jam. I had to unplug it a couple times due to this issue and have only had it for four days. As a note, I got this printer for printing my dissertation survey, so the issues may be specific to when printing large quantities. The ink it comes with is good quality. The black cartridge definitely didn’t last as long as I had hoped. The listing says approximately 500 pages. I think it lasted 450 pages; however 150 of those pages didn’t have much text on it.

    Nice printer. Works on Linux
What can you say about HP printers really? They are arguably the industry leader and they’re the most universally supported brand on the market. I’m on a Linux machine and HP is the only one I’ve found that just works without any extra screwing around. The ONLY thing I had to do was change the protocol from IPPS to IPP in order to connect wirelessly. Nice printer, great scanner.

    Great purchase
I purchased 2 of these for our home office. They were easy to set up wirelessly and easy to use. I love the fact that I can use it to scan and print. It also will print on both sides of a paper automatically. My last printer required that you manually feed the paper for double sided printing, it’s a small thing but it saves time. It is an excellent product at a good price.

Easy to configure and works awesome!
The printer was so easy to set up and I’m very happy with the printer functionality and the features available to me. Knock on wood, it’s been 100% reliable for all my printing and scanning needs. It is a huge upgrade from the old HP printer I used to have.

    A Winner!
We love it! It was fairly easy to set up. It connected to my phone and Kindle Fire. It always works ( held my breath with the last one). The app works. It is quiet.Win, win, win!

Installing the software can be a problem
I have owned personal computers and printers since 1986. I have occasionally had problems with the mechanism of different models of either dot matrix, laser, or ink jet printers. With all printers, I know to expect those issues and usually can figure out how to fix them. When I was considering this printer, I read a review about how easy it was to install the software this printer has, HP Smart. It affected slightly my decision to buy this printer. I only wish my experience was as good. I found the software neither easy to use nor the slightest bit intuitive. You download the app from the MS store and download it from there. I almost sent this printer back because I could not get the software loaded. I worked for almost six hours yesterday to get the software to download. I restarted my computer several times, hoping to clear the problem. I even decided to do something I hate doing, contact their technical support team. But, I was in the queue for their recommended chat option over four hours, but nobody turned up. Finally, I just gave it up. Tomorrow was another day. This morning, I finally managed to download HP Smart app. Once the app downloaded, it took over an hour for my printer to recognize my network and set up the communication. My recommendation, if you decide to buy this printer, is when you open the top of the printer to install the tiny printer cartridges that come with the printer, you note the white label inside. There is an 8-digit PIN you are going to needduring your software setup. Write that number or take a photo of it because you cannot open that cover while the printer is on. Another issue is when HP Smart asks for your wifi’s password, cut and paste will not work. You must fat-finger the password into the designated space. One other thing you might want to consider is the “free trial” of their ink supply program. If you select HP+, you are automatically enrolled in $7.99 a month after two “free” months. If you select to participate in that program, it amounts to about $96 a year. To stop the program, you must notify HP you are not interested. Whether it is beneficial or not depends on how much you print and what the conditions are for its use. I am not advocating or condemning the program. But since I only print about 250 sheets per month, I am skeptical of its value to me personally.

    Good 👍🏻

it has paper tray feed vs rear feed which is one big appeal for me plus it holds more than rear feed often allows for. the tray holds up to 225 sheets which is more than i usually put in there at time and so far it’s working great

The printer worked fine out of the box however, be aware of 2 things. The scanner cannot scan 2 sided documents using the document feeder’s duplex feature, because there is no duplex feature offered on this model, according to HP Support. The HP website seems to indicate that it is possible, but it is not.The glass size is not large enough to scan a legal sized document, the only way to scan legal is through the document feeder. Measure the glass size and make sure it works for you before ordering. It is large enough to scan a letter sized document 8 ½” x 11.

    Good buy for the price
