Works great – ATAPI Compliant
This expansion card was ordered to increase the number of available SATA ports inside a 10 year old desktop. The desktop had recently been migrated (finally) to WIN11, and since that was successful it was time for upgrades. I quickly discovered that I only had 4 SATA ports on the motherboard, and those were all taken up by separate SSDs. I still had an optical disk reader/writer that I had paid an extra $50 for way back when that was well integrated, but I didn’t have a spare SATA port. Enter the 10Gtek PCIe SATA expansion card. The card came with the half height bracket already installed on the card, so two screws came out, the full height bracket went on, and two screws were tightened. Easy peasy. I only needed a single cable run to the optical disk reader/writer from one of the six available ports on the card, and I used one of the cables already included with the kit. It was a good length and allowed routing for minimal airflow obstruction within the case. The card itself was reasonably well manufactured, and survived installation with no problems, snapping into a spare PCIe slot with no difficulty.Once everything was back together, the old girl was fired up and instantly recognized the card and assigned a drive letter. It was so anticlimactic I went searching through Device Manager to determine if I had an issue – there were none. All good…so the card is compatible with the current version of WIN11. As others have noted (and this was the primary reason why I purchased this exact card) – the card is 100% ATAPI compatible with older drives you’d like to keep around from old builds. This card was perfect for my requirements and is highly recommended.

Works great!
I am using this 10Gtek eSATA to PCie card in conjunction with a mediasonic probox 4 bay enclosure (also purchased here on Amazon) and it works great!I did install and update the 10Gtek driver before I hooked the mediasonic enclosure to my computer. The drivers for this 10Gtek card are no where to be found if you search for 10Gtek drivers BUT this card is based on the ASMedia ASM1061 chip so I went to ASMedias websites and found the driver there.Once that driver was installed, I hooked the mediasonic probox enclosure up and turned it on and windows 11 recognized both the drives I had installed in it with no issues!Card seems to work great so far! My jumpers were already set for eSATA so I’m wondering if I got a used card since the description says by default jumpers are set for SATA but never the less, the card seems to work great! I’ve already copied over 20TB using this eSATA card.Copy time was as I expected for 7200RPM drives in the range of 60MB/s to 220MB/s with an average of about 80MBs-110MB/s. I had a lot of very small files in the transfer so speeds where up and down.I am also using a 6FT eSATA cable and no issues with that length. It should be noted and I’m sure I missed this in the description but this card does not come with an eSATA cable, it only comes with two SATA. So if you plan on using eSATA, you will need to get your eSATA cable elsewhere.Card works great so far and happy with my purchase!

Makes sure to set the jumpers right.
Works, but no manual on how to set the jumpers. Bought it to replace an old e-SATA card for an old Sans Digital Tr5. This is not fully compatible with the Sans Digital Tr5; it reads only the first bay.

Works great as a eSATA card for port multiplier drive bay
16Oct25 – The card works as expected. Another review indicated the correct jumper settings, where all jumpers should be moved towards the external ports side of card (pins 1-2) for eSATA functionality. I needed this card to work with my in a port multiplier 5-bay eternal enclosure. You must install the StarTech driver, as I can’t post the link due to Azon claiming it does not meet community guidelines. Just know you need the driver if you want to use this in a multi-drive (more than two HDD) setup.

Easy to install, works great on newer system. – Then quit working and fried HDDs
This card 10Gtek PCIe SATA Card 4 Port with 4 SATA Cables and Low Profile Bracket, 6Gbps SATA3.0 Controller PCI Express Expansion Card, X2, Support 4 SATA 3.0 Devices does work on a ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming WiFi motherboard with CSM turned off and windows boot drive in a RAID.Windows 11 was able to see the drives attached to it and fully utilize them. The included SATA cables are pretty short, so I didn’t use them, but would work if your drives are very close.Update: 4 months later and the card has stopped working. The lights flash briefly during boot, but then stay off and no longer light up. All drives connected to the card do not register anymore. Death was sudden; after a reboot attached drives were no longer connected. Debug difficult as documentation is sparse, other than general PC debug processes.Update2: Got a new card, a StarTech, and now finding out that all the the drives that were connected to the 10GTech card are bricked. They no longer spin up. All report “No Media Found” when connected via a SATA->USB card. So when 10Gtek died, it took everything with it. Now I’m replacing the card and 4 drives, very pricey solution when I was trying to save some money on a cheap pci-sata card.

Works for those of us that have eSATA external drives.
This works as advertised. I wish they offered a PCIE v5 version. Maybe someday.

Buenas calidad. Todo correcto.

Doesn’t work.Bricked 2 SSD’s i’ve connected to it.

Pro: worked fine in Linux mint, no need to download drivers.Con: plugged two drives in, one didn’t work, found out a cable fell out. Of the 4 ports only 1 clicks in – the rest do not so cables can fall out. The top row is too close to the bottom row so you can only have 2 drives plugged in at once.I would not recommend this.

After reading lots of reviews about other chip sets not recognising drives and BSOD issues, I have to admit I was not hopeful that this gonna go well. However a doddle to install in the case, connected up 3 HHD’s and one SSD, absolutely worked first time. Shows on my win 11 self built pc as a sata drive (and not usb as some other comments) Time will tell if it develops any faults, however it worked out of the box. The only single thing I could have wished for were for the included sata cables to be black rather than light blue, however I knew this when I purchased so no complaints. Just to clarify I am not booting through a drive connected to this card so no idea if doing this would work.
