Good value, works as intended.
So far so good. I have this sitting on the hood of an 81 Toyota pickup for the past 3 weeks in Phoenix. It has dealt with the heat no problem, made it through two thunderstorms, and has kept the battery topped up. I usually start the truck once every weekend, and let it run for an hour or so to charge, so this saves me the trouble. Easy to use, plug and play essentially, just stuck it to the hood, and ran the wires through the front grille. For as inexpensive as it is, it has held up well. Indicator light is difficult to see during the day, but works properly. And most importantly it has not overcharged, or discharged the battery.

I bought this to put on my 4 wheeler just to make sure the battery stayed up. But instead put it on a tractor. It worked great, it hadn’t run for a couple months and it fired right up. I like the size and how well it worked, I ordered 5 more. The only thing that could make this better is a pigtail that bolts on to the battery also.

This has works absolutely perfect so far, we stored our snowmobiles and side by side in an outbuilding that has no electricity at the end of the season, they fired right up! Pretty straightforward setting up and great value for price paid. Would recommend.

Awesome Battery Maintainer
This solar panel trickle charger is a life saver. Bought it for my truck I wasnt driving much but has a gps tracker that leaches the battery dead over 3 days. This thing maintains a full battery charge. I don’t know about the 12v plug it comes with I just use the battery clamps only. In direct sunlight in summer it was outputting 16v what tester said but it definitely keeps my battery from going dead due to the tracker. Woupd definitely recommend it.

Doesn’t work for 2004 Tahoe
Doesn’t work on my Tahoe. Solar panel has been sitting on my dashboard in the sun for weeks. I have it plugged into the cigarette lighter–which does receive power w/o key-on. Dead battery this morning.Updating review. The 7.5Watt model did not provide enough power to keep my Tahoe charged. Which I don’t fully understand as an old vehicle shouldn’t have an excessive power draw at rest. I’m changing the stars for my review because of POWOXI’s exceptional customer service. I received immediate attention solely because of my poor review of the product. We exchanged messages back and forth for a few days describing my issue, my results/images of the tests I ran, etc. (0.162 amps @ 17.29 Volts). POWOXI agreed that the 7.5 Watt model should have sufficed for my vehicle but suggested a higher watt model and offered me a full refund of the 7.5 watt–even even outside the 30 day amazon return policy.I just purchased a higher watt model from them.

Anyone who’s dealt with a flat battery after a long break knows how frustrating that can be, so I wanted a reliable way to keep the battery topped up while I was away.After some research, I decided on the Upgraded 7.5W Solar Battery Trickle Charger Maintainer – 12V Portable Waterproof Solar Panel Trickle Charging Kit. It looked like the perfect solution: simple, compact, and completely self-sustaining.A lot of online advice suggested just plugging a solar charger into the vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket, but when I checked with Ford, they advised against it — apparently, in my model, that port isn’t live when the ignition’s off. So instead, I followed their recommendation and connected the charger directly to the battery.The setup was straightforward. The kit comes with crocodile clips for easy connection and a generous cable length that easily reached from the battery to the inside of the truck. The included suction cups can be attached to either the front or back of the solar panel, so I mounted it neatly on the inside of the windscreen, where it could catch the light without being obtrusive. The cable is thin enough that the door seal closes perfectly around it, leaving a discreet and tidy setup.While I was away, I didn’t have to give it another thought.
