AOSU Keeps Getting It Right – My Go-To Cameras for YearsI’ve been an AOSU customer for several years now and have gradually equipped my entire property with a number of their cameras (indoor & outdoor models, floodlight models, stationary and tracking versions, and now this excellent solar-powered 2-cam kit). Every single unit has been rock-solid, and I honestly can’t remember the last time one went offline for any reason other than my own Wi-Fi hiccup.What continues to blow me away is how ridiculously easy they are to set up. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve had new cameras unboxed, mounted, and streaming crisp 2K video in under ten minutes—sometimes closer to five. Scan the QR code, follow a couple of prompts, and you’re done. No complicated port forwarding, no DDNS nonsense, no subscription traps. Just works.Picture quality is outstanding day or night—the color night vision on these solar PTZ cams is genuinely impressive, and the auto-tracking actually follows people smoothly instead rather than jerking around like some other brands I’ve tried. The 360° coverage means I finally have zero blind spots around the house. Being completely solar-powered with the built-in panels is a game-changer; I mounted them in places I never could have run power or even a long charging cable to.Battery life is excellent even during cloudy weeks, and the app remains snappy and full-featured without nagging me to upgrade to some overpriced cloud plan every time I open it (local storage to microSD works perfectly).In short, AOSU has earned my repeat business the old-fashioned way: reliable products that just work, painless setup, and great performance at a fair price. If you’re on the fence, go for it—these are the cameras I recommend to all my friends and family without hesitation. This latest 2-cam solar kit is yet another home run.Keep it up, AOSU!

Good system, but a few warnings…
Pros:- Easy to set up. Cameras work well, and image is decent, but not “license-plate-clear” past maybe 30 feet in low light.- App seems nice and easy to use also.- Love the “no subscription required” event recording feature, and the remote live “PTZ” viewing.- Unpowered battery life seems to be a couple/few days, which is decent.- Cameras can run on Solar or USB C power (adapters not provided, only the cables).Cons:- Re: motion sensing – be sure to set each camera’s “Default View” so it can “see ’em coming a mile away”, because the camera has a 1-2 second delay between “sensing” and “acting”, meaning if one can run fast enough to beat that delay, the camera might miss him.- “360° panning” is true, BUT be aware that when the camera hits “360°”, it stops tracking and moving, until the object in question returns to view. If not, camera resets to its default position in 30 seconds. This means that camera placement must accommodate that weakness.”Color Night Vision” means a LIGHT comes on, triggering the sensor to revert camera to color. It looks great, but if you don’t want a bright light coming on, then black-and-white night vision is all you get.- Re: Subscription fees… Aosu sort of “hides” info about subscription plans until you actually get the app, sign in, and look at the deals, which is a bit shady. Also, it’s pricey if you opt for a “Plus” subcription, which goes up in price with EACH camera. A 5-cam subscription is like $280 per year.- I bought a four-camera system, but they only offer a three- or a five-camera subscription. So they’ve either got you buying not enough or too much in some cases. Also, in order to control five cameras on the app, you need to buy ANOTHER Homebase, because each one apparently only accommodates four cameras unless you but the big 6-camera package with a bigger Homebase.- ALSO, not all cameras go with all base srstions BE CAREFUL when buying, if you plan to add stuff later – be sure everything is compatible. VERY confusing.So this is all kind of scrambled, perhaps on purpose to make you spend more money, which is obnoxious. Definitely not the cheapest service, but it does open up some cool features, if you got the money.Overall, a good system, but they’re sneaky with the pricing, and there a few “buggers” to be accommodated in your settings/placement. Experimentation is in order. Took me 4 hours to settle on 4 good places/settings for the cameras, as the only way to know if the placement is good, is to install it and then find out. Very hard to hold the camera and test placement.Bottom line, it’s a good system and app, BUT be aware of these weaknesses and check subscription pricing and component cross-compatibility before buying.

I am really impressed with this camera system. I purchased the two camera and base unit kit. It was extremely easy to install and set up. Camera quality both day and night is spot on and the app is easy and straightforward to use. Even in December the cameras are charging with limited sun and short daylight hours. I did have a charging issue on one camera but this was resolved really quickly by Lynette and the customer service team, who provided an immediate response and checked up to make sure the fix they suggested had worked.I think these systems are great value for money and have no problem recommending them.

Really pleased with our security cameras – easy to set up and monitor all without paying additional subscription. You can see clearly what’s happening on your phone from wherever you are (wifi permitting). We had a problem with one camera but the excellent support service sent a replacement camera out immediately free of charge no questions asked – brilliant service.
