Works great with Home Assistant and Apple HomeKit
These were the first matter devices that I’ve installed into my smart home and I now understand why matter is such a great thing. It just works and is so simple.

Quick setup, good value
Using this with Apple HomeKit. Quick setup, no issues. Like that they came with stickers to show the setup QR code for easy scanning since the codes are usually on the back/plugged in side.Only been using them for about 48 hours but no issues, will report back. Very good value.

You need a Matter hub! Doesn’t work with Alexa app only
Good price on the smart plugs. Matter is open source, but unfortunately I thought these would also just work with the Alexa app, but you need a Matter hub of some kind in your house for them to work at all, unlike some older Amazon plugs. I wish it was better explained in the listing but it is a relatively new product. I just don’t have a hub that can run Matter yet. I don’t expect any issues with setup, function, or control if I had a hub already.

Terrible product
Absolute garbage, will not set up, will not work with matter app. I would not take it for free!

super easy to set up
Not only are these plugs super easy to connect to the Alexa app, but they are also actually smart. There are instructions that come with it, which include a QR code, so don’t toss that paper in case you need it. In my case, I opened up the Alexa app, and it already knew I had a new device to add. It asked me to name it, and in less than a minute, I had it paired. Here’s where the smart part comes in. It’s a 3-prong plug. Next, it asked me if I was plugging a lamp or lights into it. As a matter of fact, I am. I string Christmas lights across the inside of the house during Advent, but I don’t like having to remember which plug goes where. I also don’t want to keep the lights on 24/7 because then the dog can’t sleep at night.I have a group called lights, and it asked if I wanted to include it in that group. Sure! So now I don’t have to remember to say “Alexa, turn off upstairs hall Christmas lights”. I can just say “Alexa, turn off lights,” and it will turn off this plug along with my other lights. And yes, I can set it on a schedule and so forth. That is so much easier than some of the older versions I have. I’ve never had it prompt me before to add a plug to a pre-existing group, so that is a great upgrade for me.That’s pretty handy because that means I can leave it plugged in year-round and not have to remember which plug goes where in the house.

Smartest Plug Yet
Our smart home ecosystem is based in Apple, but with this plug, we don’t have to choose one and neglect the rest. This plug supports Matter, which means it’s compatible with pretty much every ecosystem out there. It’s also rated for up to 1800w, so you can use it for almost anything that plugs into an outlet, including common things like lights, but also space heaters, speakers, or video game consoles if you really wanted to.For Apple, all I had to do was scan the QR code on the side, and it appeared immediately. Other ecosystems may differ slightly, but my understanding of Matter is that basic process should remain the same. It’s super easy, and I wish every smart device supported Matter. The only possible downside is that it doesn’t support Thread, but that’s somewhat niche still, so not a big deal.

Works great with Home Assistant (no additional hub required) so I’ll be buying more of these
My house runs on a spare mini PC that runs Home Assistant and home Assistant is now Matter compatible without an additional since the Matter protocol, an open standard for smart home devices, works over existing Wi-Fi networks.I added the necessary add-on and integration to Home Assistant, used the Home Assistant Companion App to scan the barcode included with the Amazon Basics Smart Plug, and “Voila!”, the device was now in Home Assistant. We’re using the device to control a floor lamp that we always forget to turn off and it’s wonderful to be able to just be able to ask a Google home to turn the lamp off or even have it turn on and off automatically if it’s dark and someone is on the room.Gotta love technology and this inexpensive, high quality little smart plug fits in beautifully with the rest of our smart home setup.

Didn’t connect to my android very easily but eventually did. Once connected, there are awesome and super convenient.

Smart Plugs connected to home set up in no time after scanning the QR code. Fastest connection ever experienced with any other smart home devices.(Buyers need to be aware that product requires a matter enabled hub!)

Managed to get one set up but it promptly stopped working. The other plug will not connect to Alexa. Total waste of time and money. I am very disappointed/annoyed as this is apparently an Amazon Basics product so, in theory, it should work with Alexa.

Wish I could go lower than one star but I won’t let me. Wont connect to google app unless you have a google home so beware of that. Tried the Alexa app and it wouldn’t connect either. Waste of money and time do not recommend at all

It doesnt state it in the product description but You need an echo or some other home device for this to work. Poor business practice.
