    Great 5k2k monitor
I had been looking for a new monitor for awhile and had been researching for a new one. I decided I wanted a high quality display, but burn in was a fear I was having for alot of the new OLED monitors since I do a good amount of office work/internet browsing in addition to some gaming. Thats why when I saw this monitor go on sale I jumped onboard. I have been nothing but happy with this purchase as I get the wide screen experience, but still get the height I need for my office work. Much cheaper than the LG and Dell options, yes I know it is a VA panel, but as the monitor sits directly in front of me at my desk I have NO issues with viewing angles or anything like that. A great monitor overall and if you can get it on sale it is a NO BRAINER to purchase. Picture quality is great, screen is bright enough for my office and everything is functioning as I would expect. My 4080 video card truely allows this monitor to shine. Highly recommend for those of you who dont want to risk the burn in of OLED or avoid the high prices of the OLED screens. Obviously those other monitors may have better blacks and brightness, but for the price you won’t be disappointed. I will admit, that like most Samsung monitors/TVs, you do need to do some adjustments to get a more accurate color, but that little bit of work is well worth it.

Fantastic monitor, but not for $1000+
This monitor is exactly what I’ve been looking for to replace my 32 inch 4k dell. It’s much sharper, the refresh rate is great and the curve is not too crazy like some other gaming monitors. I use it for work and sim racing. For gaming I have an RTX 4080 and it drives it well. One downside is the displaport being 1.4, but the HDMI 2.1 works well for the high resolution and refresh rate.Right now it’s on promotion for 799 and that’s the right price, maybe a little more is fine too, but not $1000 or the launch price.

    High quality monitor
These are initial impressions after a few hours of use: picture and build quality are great. Bright and colorful. Text and images are crystal clear. Backlighting appears pretty even. Size is perfect for me coming from a 32″ 4K monitor. Smaller widescreen monitors felt like they had been squashed vertically but this feels like I gained real estate. Hooked up with DisplayPort; no problems. Menus are easy to navigate and logical. Box was a bit awkward to handle but the monitor is pretty light – I could easily assemble and move it without help. Powertoys recommended to control the placement of windows. Gaming with an rtx 4090 and no problems driving this resolution.

    5k2k resolution
great monitor A person might have to work on display and personalization settings when first setting up. The 5k2k monitors are different. On a ultrawide 5k2k. The 2k is what gives the height of monitor. so handy on browser pages

    This 40″ monitor is outstanding.
This is a perspective from a gamer. Historically, I do not like VA panels, so much so that this is the first one i have tried in about 5-7 years because they have too many issue like black smear and VRR flicker.First thing I always do look at the UFO blur trail on monitor, then check for dead pixels. The blur trail is not bad. The best of any VA panel i have seen. After 1 month, no dead or stuck pixels.- When gaming, my frame rates are generally over 70 fps, and i do not notice black smear or blur.- Very limited VRR/Freesync flicker. I have only seen VRR flicker on 2 or 3 load screens. So very good here.- I updated the firmware to 1001.2 version immediately- Panel uniformity is ok. You can see it is darker on edges of screen.- 10-bit Colors are ok, but not as good as OLED. Good enough for me.- Has typical VA panel grey sheen or VA glow. It’s not bad.- Has minor viewing angle issues. As long as you are in front, not noticeable.- OMG level of pixel density. It’s simply awesome. Everything is so crisp and clear.- Very slight text blur or disappear when fast scrolling text or moving bright cursor over dark screen.- I do not use HDR in windows due to poor windows implementationEvery panel type (OLED, VA, IPS) has its own set of weaknesses. Coming from OLED monitor, it had horrible VRR flickering to the point that it drove me to replace it. I really like VRR/Freesync/gsync, and I had to disable it on the oled monitor. This monitor gets quite warm. First time I have ever felt heat from front of a monitor. Like 1-2 inches from front of monitor, you can feel a slight warmth radiating. I googled to make sure this was normal. Given the pixel density, it’s just a physics fact that this many LEDs will radiate some heat. The strengths of this monitor outweigh the weaknesses inherent to VA panels. In fact, it corrects the normal black smear and VA panel flickering. You need a hefty GPU to drive this monitor which is over 4k resolution. When I have issues, I drop to 3440×1440 resolution to play games to get higher frame rate.
